Donald Thomas Security Officer of the Year Award

We in the security industry lost one of our brothers on April 15, 1999. Donald Thomas was a member of the LDS Church Security Detail in Salt Lake City, Utah. Don was a dedicated and loving soul who gave the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. We, as a chapter have chosen to honor his memory by awarding a Security Officer of the Year award to a contract security officer and a proprietary officer that currently serve within the boundaries of our chapter.

The job of a security officer is occasionally difficult, sometimes dangerous and often solitary. We need to recognize those whose devotion to duty and selfless performance are clearly a cut above.

The winner of the award shall be from the nominees, which have made a significant advancement in their professional field. Originality, diversity, creativity, enthusiasm, adaptability and continuity are some of the elements that the committee may consider in the selection process.

You are invited to bring your officer to the November chapter meeting to be recognized. Each nominee will be introduced and his/her nomination will be read to the attendees after which the winners will be announced and presented with their awards.

Please complete the nomination form and return to the chapter chairman by November 1st.
